The mayor explained the reason for the rapid creation of dedicated lanes in the cityOctober 4, 2017
Urgently, the Moscow authorities are forced to create dedicated lanes for public transport, as the city was threatened with traffic collapse, said Mayor Sobyanin, giving an interview to media representatives. So the journalist "Tapes.ru" asked the mayor of the effectiveness of the functioning of the allocated lanes and expressed his own opinion that each of the initiatives of the Moscow government on the population falls like snow on his head.
The mayor responded by saying that the publication’s correspondent is essentially right - there is a need to discuss all the projects that are significant for the city’s life.He said that he felt guilty, because the power of some initiatives is moving faster than required according to the technology of unhurried design, discussion, etc.
According to the mayor, the problem is that in these projects the capital has lagged behind for twenty years. Now the number of cars is increasing in an arithmetic progression, and urgent measures are required, including road design, performed by experienced specialists.
He explained the reason why the authorities began to create dedicated lanes at an accelerated pace. First, before the lanes did not give effect, because cars were parked in their place, and buses were forced to go to the second lane, which further complicated the traffic. As a rule, with the introduction of lanes movement improves.
Secondly, according to Sobyanin, there was a fear that if no stripes were entered, not only public transport but also private cars would get stuck in traffic.
