Sweat the windows: what to do?
It seems that the new plastic windows are a panaceafrom everything: heat, cold, noise and even moisture. But in reality everything is completely different. The windows "cry", what should I do? How to deal with this? Today we will try to figure out what the reason for the fogging of windows and how it can be prevented.
Why do the windows sweat?
The main reason for fogging windows ishigh humidity in the room. In fact, the droplets on the windows are a condensate that collects on the glass because of the difference in temperature in the street and indoors. In addition, another reason for such fogging may be a poor-quality window or its substandard installation. Remember that miser pays twice.
How to eliminate condensation on the window?
Now you know why the windows are sweating. What to do? There are several ways to solve this problem:
- New double glazing. The most reliable and most radical option is the installation of a new, insulated glazing unit. It can have three glasses instead of two, or the same two, but collected denser and thicker, which will not allow the amplitude of the temperature to reflect on the inside of the window.
- Airing. The easiest way is to regularly ventilate the room. Due to the fact that the air will be cooled and updated, the humidity in the room will drop, and the temperature difference will not be so noticeable. And the best way to open the window is to open it for a few minutes, than to open the window for a long time in the ventilation mode. When you open the window wide, the air masses change quickly and in a larger volume, but the objects in the room do not have time to cool down, which means that the temperature will be easier to restore. Opening the window for airing, the air masses will slowly change, and the temperature will fall slowly, but steadily, cooling everything around.
- Desiccant. Now there are special devices that can be purchased at a construction shop or on the Internet. They absorb moisture in the room. And if the humidity is increased, you should be doubly careful: in addition to such an annoying little thing, like the condensation on the windows, it can provoke serious diseases. Increased air humidity promotes the reproduction of mold and bacteria that enter our body with every sigh.
- Candle. The last way is to put a candle on the window sill. It will heat the air near the window, lower the humidity, and the condensate will significantly decrease or disappear altogether. In addition to practical application, this method is also an aesthetic decoration of the decor.
Now that you know why the plastic windows are sweating, what to do in this case and how to prevent such "crying", you will easily cope with this problem.
