Olympic facilities that did not find investors will be built at the expense of taxpayers
Olympic facilities, the construction of which will not be able to attract investors, will be built at the expense of the state budget. This was stated by the Minister of Regional Development Dmitry Kozak, speaking in the State Duma at the "government hour" on the preparation of the 2014 Olympics.
“If we fail to attract investors and interest them in the possible use of facilities before and after the Olympics, then we will build at the expense of the budget,” the minister said.
As Dmitry Kozak noted, the state intends to fulfill its obligations in preparation for the Olympics. At the same time, he clarified that in order to minimize the expenses for the construction of Olympic facilities, the officials will make every effort to attract investors, who will be offered almost all facilities under construction in Sochi.
“We will offer investors literally everything in order to minimize budget expenditures,” the minister added.
