The Chelyabinsk region has applied for participation in the program of the housing and utilities reform fund. The authorities of the region expect to receive financial assistance in the amount of about 338 million rubles. The funds will be used to carry out major repairs in residential buildings and resettlement of emergency and dilapidated housing stock in 2012, the press service of housing and communal services reports.
The received application will be reviewed within one month. It provides for the Chelyabinsk region to receive about 338 million rubles from the budget of the housing and utilities fund. The region managed to save about 23 million rubles on the implementation of this program in previous years, the report says. The entire amount of funds will be directed to the resettlement of citizens from low-rise emergency houses in seven districts of the Chelyabinsk region.
During the period of the housing and utilities fund from 2008 to 2011, the Chelyabinsk region received about 8.1 billion rubles for capital repairs in residential buildings. About 3.14 billion rubles were allocated from the regional budget in the framework of co-financing. At the expense of the allocated funds, overhaul of more than 6 thousand houses was carried out, housing conditions were improved by 857.4 thousand people. 11.879 thousand people who previously lived in emergency houses received new apartments.
The Housing and Utilities Reform Fund was created with the aim of implementing a program for the resettlement of housing that is not suitable for living and for the overhaul of housing stock at the regional level. Only those regions that have fulfilled a number of conditions of the housing and utilities fund can participate in the program.
